The Power of group mind. Let's actually start thinking for ourselves.

Back when this pandemic crisis was beginning in the US, and Americans were starting to get wind of what could happen, I found myself getting into my car and heading for Costco. I could feel it in the air, this urgency to “get there”, this kind of mindless lemming-like surging to go stock up. I was caught in it. Driving faster than necessary, participating in the circling shark energy of finding a parking spot and “getting in there.” I am self-aware enough to recognize that I was participating in the group mind, but not quite intentional enough to get out of that powerful current. I stocked up.

To be fair, my spiritual teacher, Master Zhi Gang Sha, has been talking about this for over ten years, that the over-use and abuse of the earth’s resources and a tipping point of a lot very dark collective karma and unconscious behaviors would lead to a big shaking up. He has called this the earth’s transition. It has begun. Stocking up is a pretty good idea, because this shaking could last awhile.

Consciousness has countless levels and layers. Dr. David Hawkins wrote a profound book called “Power vs Force” which explores and calibrates the levels of consciousness, from say Jesus at 1,000, to Saddam Hussein at 68, or roughly the consciousness of an iguana. You can’t honestly blame anyone for their level of awareness, people act from where they are. But it is possible to self-awaken, and it’s urgent that the humans of the earth do that now. Dr. Hawkins says that 200 is the level at which self-awareness arises. He and Master Sha both say that about 15% of humans on the earth are at or above this level.

“Our thoughts are mainly controlled by our subconscious, which is largely formed before the age of 6, and you cannot change the subconscious mind by just thinking about it. That’s why the power of positive thinking will not work for most people. The subconscious mind is like a tape player. Until you change the tape, it will not change.”

Bruce Lipton

There is a universal sub-conscious mind which we all tap into, and are influenced by. All thought forms, positive and negative, swirl in this great sea. It is entirely undisciplined, and rules us when we are unaware of its pull. It is neither bad nor good, but it is powerful. This is where the collective memory of humanity is, and from this emerges the group mind, call it tribe, or mob rule, it’s that which bubbles to the surface when some kind of threat appears.

A wonderful piece of writing is circulating right now called

“Prepare for the ultimate gaslighting” by Julio Vincent Gambuto,

found on Medium. I highly recommend it. He discusses what is poised to descend on us the instant it looks like we have turned the corner of covid-19, which is a monstrous mass-marketing onslaught to help us go “back to normal.” Everyone wants the comfort of normal, right? This is the 100% callous manipulating of humans to get right back to spending lots of money, using oil based fuels, having what we want when we want it, flying, driving, out the door to do our work. Back to prepackaged foods that have mysterious origins. Back to blissful ignorance of where animal based diet comes from, how their lives are taken from them, how that flesh is processed. Continue to turn a blind eye to the indifferent and mindless cruelty of factory farming.

There are enormous and important lessons that could be learned from current events. The skies are clearing, water is starting to heal, animals can catch a breath. We have hopefully spent some time reconnecting with our families, friends, animal companions, and turning within to listen a bit. It might be difficult, but I put forth that it’s possible to keep that more tender outlook, the inward gaze. We CAN stop listening to the loud, money and power fueled big pharma, corporate sociopathy, and bottomless political corruption. It’s going to carry on as long we give it our power, energy, and attention. The Matrix was right.

The answer is, what do you believe is real? The above mentioned noise and fury, or the quiet, living presence of the Divine? Whatever you may choose to call it, the Infinite, the Source, God, Divine Intelligence.

One way to pull out of the sticky, life-sucking energy of the group mind is to meditate. Listen to your own higher self, to whatever deity grabs you, rest your mind in your lower abdomen, relax and be quiet. Thoughts will come and go like clouds in the sky, let them. You will feel yourself separating from the herd mentality, but one with all life. It’s so precious a feeling to be still, embraced by a loving presence. If it helps you to center, chant something you like, but if possible something without a mental hook that will bring you out of stillness. For instance, in Chinese the words for Great Love are Da Ai. Easy to remember, high frequency, and a wonderful intention.

Physics has uncovered a particle that only appears when it is observed. The impact of that discovery is so immense, and yet so pure. What we chant, we become. What we look at, listen to, and think, we become. Do you feel the responsibility of your every thought word and action? We absolutely can choose which way this will go, but we have to do it together. All of us. Not herd mind, but high, unified Divine Mind.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing

and rightdoing there is a field.

I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass

the world is too full to talk about.”

― Rumi
