The heart as Breezeway

A breezeway is an architectural description of a space between two buildings, sometimes covered, that allows air to flow through.

I am entirely in love with the concept of the heart as a breezeway, wide open to the wind, allowing everything

to come and go without holding or judging.

There is a marvelous Buddhist stories book, called "Opening the door of your heart" by Ajahn Brahm, which gives a powerful teaching about what it is to open the heart, and why we should do it. You will not keep harm and suffering bound to you if it just flows through. Observe and let it go, let it flow. We think that we will be hurt if we open the heart, but the truth is opposite. Holding on to harmful, hurtful things in our outer experience forms little hooks within us, that enable more sufferings to remain, and creating blockages that further block the light and free flow of life.

This really works my dears! I recently had an upsetting and seemingly negative encounter with a colleague.

I felt that first flush of flight or fight, defend, argue, anger. Then this image came up. and the words, "let it go, let it flow." it was pretty miraculous how I just simply didn't feel those things any longer! Not happy, not sad, not upset, not inferior, not superior, just....free.

Master Sha teaches, Let It Go.

Try it. really.

love and blessings to you all!

Let it go, let it flow.
